TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
1. Definitions
- “The Company” refers to High Tide Marine.
- “The Customer” refers to the person or entity requesting services.
- “The Vessel” refers to the boat, yacht, or marine equipment subject to repair or maintenance.
2. Quotes and Estimates All quotes provided are free and no-obligation. Estimates are valid for [30] days from the date of issue. While we endeavor to be accurate, unforeseen structural issues or hidden damage found during repair may require a revised quote. We will always seek your approval before proceeding with additional costs.
3. Access and Work Environment As a mobile service, the Customer must ensure The Company has appropriate access to The Vessel at its mooring or storage location (e.g., Dartside Quay, Marina, or private driveway). It is the Customer’s responsibility to inform the marina or yard of our attendance if required.
4. Weather and Delays Marine work, particularly external repairs (GRP, antifouling, painting), is often weather-dependent. The Company reserves the right to reschedule work if environmental conditions (rain, humidity, temperature) would compromise the quality of the finish. We will keep you informed of any such delays.
5. Payment Terms
- Payment is due upon completion of the work unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- For major structural repairs or high-material costs (e.g., copper coating), a deposit of [X]% may be required before work commences.
- The Company reserves the right to withhold the Vessel or equipment until full payment has been received.
6. Liability and Insurance The Company carries professional liability insurance. However, The Customer is responsible for ensuring The Vessel is insured against fire, theft, and damage while in our care or while we are working on it. We are not liable for pre-existing damage or defects in the Vessel’s structure.
7. Warranty We take pride in our “friendly and honest service.” We warrant that all work will be carried out with reasonable care and skill. Any defects arising directly from our workmanship must be reported within [Number] days for rectification.
8. Governing Law These terms are governed by English Law and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
