A little preventative maintenance now saves a lot of money (and embarrassment) later. Here is a quick checklist from the High Tide Marine team:
- Check your Anodes: Are they wasted away? If so, your metal hull parts are next.
- Skin Fitting Replacement: Check your seacocks. Do they open and close smoothly? If they are seized or corroded, they need replacing immediately.
- Hull Check: Look for antifoul condition or damage. Do you need a paint re-spray or just a touch-up?
- Valeting: A clean boat is easier to inspect. A general valeting clears the winter grime and lets you see what needs doing.
